His work established the mixer as a creative partner, elevating the emotion of a song. Clearmountain’s Domain simplifies one of his key techniques into a single plugin. This Apogee plugin replicates his personal FX signal chain for creating rich atmospheres. It includes classic presets to recreate iconic sounds and offers advanced views to help users create their own.

Accessible In Your DAW

Over his career, Clearmountain developed a complex hardware FX signal chain including echo chambers, delays, harmonizers, EQs, and a large format SSL console. Reproducing this intricate setup with individual plugins was nearly impossible. Clearmountain’s Domain makes it simple to achieve Bob’s results with a single click, providing a streamlined solution for his signature sounds.

Classic Presets

The Clearmountain Classic presets allow users to immediately access sounds from their favorite mixes. Bob meticulously created each preset based on specific instruments and processing from his hit catalog. For example, users can load presets to get the Bowie “Let’s Dance” guitar and vocal delay or the Springsteen “Born in the USA” snare sound.

Product Tour

The Home page offers an easy start by trimming the input level and scrolling through presets. The Sidebar Signal Flow diagram allows navigation to advanced views for tweaking settings. The Input view includes de-essing and a 3-band EQ, based on Clearmountain’s original hardware. The Delay view provides extensive controls for stereo delays, including tempo sync, feedback linking, and EQ. The Pitch Shift/Reverb section allows subtle to extreme sounds with pitch shifting and sends to three reverbs. The Mixer creates the ideal blend of the five FX processes delay, pitch-shifted delay, and three convolution reverbs with a dry/wet control.
