Description

Humanoid is a pitch correction plugin designed to create robotic vocals from any singing performance. Using a new approach to vocal tuning and phase-vocoding, it instantly hard-tunes and radically manipulates voices, transforming singers into their best synthetic selves. It is not designed for natural-sounding vocals, but for extreme hard-tuning and innovative voice manipulation features.

Vocal Tuning

Humanoid is designed for extreme hard-tuning, pushing the boundaries of modern vocals with its FFT-based re-tuning engine. It provides a smooth, crisp sound and works even for those with no singing skills.

Create Harmonies From Any Vocal

Humanoid’s pitch can be manually controlled via automation or MIDI, allowing you to create new, perfectly pitched melodies, harmonies, and chords from any vocal take. You can turn a lead vocal into a symphony by layering it with re-pitched variations or use it as a futuristic vocoder. The re-tuning engine handles note changes seamlessly, even across large ranges.

Pitch

This section controls how the hard-tuning engine corrects audio. You can use Scale mode to correct notes to a musical key, Note mode for manual correction via the keyboard display or automation, or MIDI mode to control pitch with a MIDI track or controller. A preset lock is available to browse presets without changing pitch settings.

Synthesizer

Humanoid’s wavetable synth engine follows the incoming signal’s pitch and re-synthesizes it with selectable waveshapes, allowing you to morph a synth layer into the vocal sound for a more synthetic feel.

Filter

The onboard filter section provides quick access to high and low-pass filters and a sweepable mid band. Acting on the spectral content, it can achieve extremely sharp cuts that a traditional filter cannot.

Effects

This section offers creative tools to warp your voice. ‘Widen’ makes the voice wider, ‘Warble’ adds spectral vibrato, and ‘Freeze’ is a unique, syncable stutter effect.

Utility

The Utility section includes tools for improving vocal processing results. It allows you to limit the note range for better pitch detection, add a de-esser to tame sibilance, and a gate to reduce background noise. The smoothing function softens the re-tuning style by reducing harsh harmonics.

Humanoid comes with 180 presets from top sound designers, offering expertly built patches for various genres, from classic hard-tuning to transformative vocal manipulation.
