Description

The streamlined version of Sasquatch 2 Kick Machine, Little Foot is an easy-to-use kick drum enhancement that can add sub-harmonics, punch, and body to any kick drum. It is small in terms of CPU usage and has one job: to add power to your kick drum. Little Foot refines a time-honored studio technique of blending a tunable low-frequency sine wave with a kick drum to add punch and deep low end. It can also bring out an octave above the fundamental for better audibility on small speakers like earbuds or iPhone speakers.

You can’t EQ what isn’t there. An old trick to bring out sub frequencies was to gate a low-frequency sine wave tuned to the drum’s fundamental, which would be triggered by the kick and blended with it. The standard procedure for this is complicated, involving multiple channels and plug-ins. Little Foot simplifies this by providing the effect in one simple interface. It eliminates the need to tweak noise gates, check results on separate tracks, or use additional plug-ins to tune the sine wave or modify its envelope. With Little Foot, you can individually tune, sustain, and level-control the “Oomph” signal and treat the original kick for resonance. All you have to do is drop it on your kick drum track and adjust to taste.

Little Foot Big Easy

Little Foot is designed to greatly simplify kick drum enhancement. Its user interface gives you exactly what you need to craft your kick drum quickly and effectively. The “Oomph” section has controls for Frequency, Sustain, Threshold, and Level, allowing you to select the sub-harmonic frequency, its duration, when it will kick in, and its level. The “Dry” section has a variable high-pass filter to make room for the sub-drop, a resonance knob to prevent the sound from thinning out, and a level control for the dry kick sound. The plug-in also includes In/Out level meters, a main level slider, a Reset button, and an “About” button.
