Description

At its core, the GForce impOSCar3 is based on the legendary British hardware synth, OSCar. This hybrid synth combines digital oscillators with analog filters for a wide sonic range. It’s ideal for creating expansive pads, resonant bells, and precise leads. The filter and new wavetable editor merge digital clarity with analog richness. The poly-unison mode can produce a true wall of sound.

Unique Filters & New Custom Wavetables

The impOSCar3 features a unique dual filter with LP, HP, and BP configurations in 2-pole or 4-pole, and various parallel options. This allows for formant-like textures and phasing effects. The new wavetable oscillator has over 150 presets, and you can design custom wavetables or draw partials. Wavetable switching provides a simple way to explore new tones while keeping the original sound’s character.

What’s New?

The impOSCar3’s oscillators now have fully editable 256-step wavetables. The synth includes over 450 new factory patches and a browser for easy navigation through the total of over 1800 patches. New features also include 4 macros, a new reverb, an improved layout, a user-designable LFO editor, aftertouch control, undo & redo, and a fully scalable UI. The instrument’s operation has been simplified while maintaining its depth and compatibility with legacy impOSCar2 patches.

A Trailblazing Hybrid Synthesizer

Inspired by a UK-designed synth from the 1980s, the impOSCar3 celebrates a pioneering instrument that integrated digital and analog technologies. The original had digital oscillators that could generate standard waveforms and up to 24 user-defined digital waveforms, along with a dual filter. Only 2,000 units of the original were made. The impOSCar3 faithfully recreates this classic while expanding its capabilities.

A Deep And Unique Playground With No Equal

The impOSCar3 is a rich sound design tool. Professional sound designers and artists, including Jogging House, Sandunes, The Unfinished, and Patricia Wolf, contributed over 450 new patches. These complement the existing 1350+ legacy patches, some of which were designed by notable artists like Billy Currie and Rick Smith, as well as Paul Wiffen, the original OSCar sound designer.
