Description

The GForce OB-1, an emulation developed with Oberheim, brings the classic hardware Oberheim OB-1 synth to the forefront. This emulation broadens the Oberheim sound palette, making it a favorite for techno, electro, and underground producers, as well as composers who value vintage analog tones. Its rich, aggressive sound and features make it an essential tool for creating music.

Join The Rebellion Against Mundane Sounds

The GForce Oberheim OB-1 offers a versatile sound palette, balancing the full sound of the Minimoog with the aggressive tone of the MS-20. It’s a powerful tool for creating deep bass lines, soaring leads, or unique special sounds. The OB-1 can be your ultimate ally in the studio, helping you bring balance and strength to your music.

How Was It Augmented?

The GForce Software Oberheim OB-1 emulation has been significantly enhanced. It retains the original’s authentic tones while adding features like enhanced signal path with a new waveform, waveshape modulation, discreet levels for oscillators, sub and noise, LFO sync, envelope looping, discreet key tracking, cross-mod, and pan spread. The original monophonic design has been augmented with polyphony (up to 16 voices) and mono unison. Other additions include an X-Modifier for direct parameter modulation, a High Pass Filter, and integrated Chorus, Delay, and Reverb effects. Four versatile Macros provide real-time control, and a built-in Arpeggiator and Sequencer with individual step length and probability add rhythmic and melodic complexity. An advanced Patch Browser also streamlines the creative process. These enhancements make the OB-1 a powerful and versatile modern instrument.

The Hidden Gem

Launched in 1978, the hardware Oberheim OB-1 was the first programmable monophonic synthesizer, allowing musicians to save and recall their unique sounds. Despite its groundbreaking features, it has remained a hidden gem compared to other synths like the Minimoog. However, those who know its capabilities recognize the OB-1’s true value and historical significance.

Create Hugely Complex, Yet Musical, Sounds With X-Modifier

The unique X-Modifier technology offers immense sound modulation possibilities. The intuitive X-LFO and X-ADSR sections allow for faster workflow with pre-set modulation paths. X-Mods enable extensive modulation of almost every parameter, creating complex, yet musical, sounds. While the core tone remains authentic, these features transform the synth into a true sonic canvas.
