Description

INSPIRATA is a workstation for spatial sound that allows users to automate the movement and acoustical parameters of sound sources within a virtual space during post-production. The sound instantly adapts to the new position, replicating the acoustics of the space without environmental noise.

Revolutionary Spatial Controls

INSPIRATA provides direct control over acoustical parameters that affect the sound, such as apparent source sound width (ASW) and listener envelopment (LEV). These parameters, which are typically indirect and space-dependent, are now independently adjustable. Users can also change and automate the orientation of speaker feeds in real-time, allowing for full control over the sound source’s width and how it envelopes the listener.

Direct Control Of Sound Clarity

In INSPIRATA, reverberation time and sound clarity are independently adjustable in each space using dedicated controls. The software optimizes reflections to match desired settings. This method, based on an award-winning research paper, allows for real-time changes to sound clarity (C80).

Controls Of The Reverberation Time

The reverberation time, which affects the length of a sound’s decay, can be adjusted. INSPIRATA preserves the natural, slight variations in reverberation time found in real spaces. It also reproduces the non-exponential nature of natural decay. The software allows for frequency-dependent reverberation time adjustments, letting users fine-tune the tonal footprint of their sound to be more bass or treble-heavy, achieving warmth or brightness with ease.

Surround Support

INSPIRATA supports multi-channel audio. It can naturally upmix a mono sound source to various 3D surround configurations. It also allows for the application of reverberation to surround or multi-channel audio for instruments and can deliver the final mix in any desired surround format with a few clicks.
