Description

Designed with mixer Andrew Scheps, Scheps Omni Channel 2 is a plugin that combines the sound of classic analog channel strips with flexible digital sound-shaping. It features a combination of compression, EQ, and saturation tones. The new version, Scheps Omni Channel 2, includes new features like CRUSH saturation, a SOFT soft-knee compressor, and a 24dB-per-octave filter with resonance. It also allows users to host any VST3 plugin in its insert point. According to Andrew Scheps, the updated plugin expands on what can be done with it as a primary mixing tool.

New In Scheps Omni Channel 2

Scheps Omni 2 is more versatile with new features. CRUSH is a new preamp saturation flavor for aggressive distortion. SOFT is a new soft-knee compressor, joining the VCA, FET, and OPT options. A new 24dB-per-octave filter with resonance is ideal for creative effects. The plugin also adds the ability to host VST3 plugins from any brand in its insert point.

The Preamp: Superior Signal Shaping

The preamp offers four harmonic saturation options: ODD, EVEN, HEAVY, and the new CRUSH. Variable high and lowpass filters with slopes up to 24dB-per-octave are available for frequency tailoring and sound design. A “thump” option provides a gentle low-end resonance.

Unequalled Equalization

Omni Channel has a unique EQ with “mid” and “tone” parametric stages that serve different purposes, along with two traditional parametric/shelving EQs.

Dynamic Dual De-Essing

The DS2 module has two independent de-essers for dynamic control at any frequency, with adjustable bandwidth and shape. They can be used on vocals, harsh amp sims, or synths to remove buzz.

4 Classic Compression Flavors

The Compressor section offers four types: OPT (slow, smooth), VCA (fast, transparent), FET (a middle ground), and the new SOFT (soft-knee). This provides options for clamping down on overheads, smoothing vocals, or sustaining guitars.

Golden Gate

This module functions as a gate or linear expander with creative options like sidechaining, filtering, MIDI learn, and comprehensive routing for stereo or mid-side processing.

Focus On What’s Important With Focus Presets

Andrew Scheps created “FOCUS” presets to highlight important controls for specific sources like vocals, drums, and bass. These presets offer a starting point and visually guide the user to key parameters. Scheps Omni Channel 2 includes new FOCUS presets for the CRUSH, SOFT, and 24dB Filter features.
