Description

FilterCult is a powerful and creative signal filtering and sound coloration tool. It is a multi-device effects processor that combines modeled analog and digital components within a rack-mount cabinet and an easy-to-use interface. At its core, FilterCult is an accurate simulation of an iconic transistor ladder analog filter, meticulously preserving its original circuit topology and behavior. The addition of circuit-bending modifications and nonlinear electronic components expands its sound-sculpting capabilities. FilterCult is suitable for any music production scenario, from gentle analog filtering to aggressive coloration of audio material.

Overview

The leading device in FilterCult is the FLT-TL22, a transistor ladder analog filter. It includes a variety of experimental circuit-bents and improvements, such as a device-level feedback path, extra pre-filter and post-filter nonlinear components (transistor or tube-based), a poles selector, and a high-pass path. The rack also hosts the PRM-EM44, an input signal router and output signal mixer. The MOD-XG01 unit is a multi-source modulator that controls the filter’s cutoff and emphasis, integrating an envelope generator, a tempo-synced LFO, and a noise generator. This feature set makes FilterCult suitable for both gentle analog filtering and deep, wild signal alterations, producing powerful bassline-like colorations, especially on rhythmic material. FilterCult is a complete, lightweight, and intuitive replica of a great-sounding and versatile analog filter.
