Description
RawPrime is a physically modeled hybrid synthesizer that uses digital and analog electronic components from the 1970s and 1980s telecommunications industry. The device is designed to be a replicable real-world product made with vintage electronics. It uses a unique synthesis approach that purposely generates a large amount of aliasing signals and then uses those signals as the sound source. An expressive analog filter, a set of modulators, two multi-effect slots, and a creative arpeggiator complete the synthesizer, aiming to make it a favorite vintage-style instrument from a past that never existed.
The Past That Never Was
RawPrime sounds distinctive by using modeled late-1970s and early-1980s telecommunications-class numerically controlled oscillators (NCOs) and digital to analog converters (DACs). Internally, these hybrid components are arranged to create overtones exclusively from the aliasing signals produced by this vintage technology. This raw sound material is then processed by an expressive 2-pole resonant low-pass diode-ladder analog filter with an uncommon design. An additional non-resonant high-pass analog filter, three analog envelope generators, two digital LFOs, and a full modulation matrix provide extensive sound design possibilities. Two insert/master effects slots and a creative multi-mode arpeggiator make RawPrime a premium synthesizer for both live performance and studio production.
